Wear It Pink. Support Breast Cancer Research. - 19 October 2018.

Every year, thousands of people across the country take part in wear it pink to stand together, united against breast cancer.

On 19 October 2018, members of the Rotary Club of Elstree and Borehamwood wore pink to raise money and help make life-saving research happen. 


"Because breast cancer is still here. According to statistics, 1 in 8 women gets diagnosed with cancer. It’s still tearing apart the lives of families and it’s still taking the lives of the women we love on a heartbreaking scale."  (source:

On the 21st April 2017, our club held a Blood Pressure Day, organised in conjunction with the Stroke Association.

Also this event saw the launch of a new Wishing Well to be located at 96 Shenley Road. This replaces the original Wishing Well which George Male introduced many years ago. This Wishing Well was the idea of his son Nick Male who wanted to re introduce the Well which was destroyed when the former Village hall was demolished to make way for the new community facility and library.

Elstree & Borehamwood 2017 Photographic Exhibition - January 2018

The club exhibited some of the highlights from 2017 at a coffee morning organised by Elstree & Borehamwood Town Council. The event spot-lighted all the different community activities that made 2017 one to remember.

Hertsmere Borough Mayor Cllr. Peter Rutledge, Charity Quiz Night 2017

Our club recently took part in a quiz night in aid of the Hertsmere Borough Mayor's nominated charity for 2017, and came out 'Top of the Class' by winning the event.

Rotary Quiz Team The Winners - We are the Champions 

The event drew in thirteen teams from all around the borough of Hertsmere. The Rotary team comprised of Rotary President, Nick Male, Elstree & Borehamwood Town Mayor and Rotarian Cllr. Clive Butchins, and his wife Elaine, Rotarian Norman Shuker and his wife Ann, and Rotarian Stephen Rehder.
